Common questions
Individuals
Do I need any specific experience to get involved?
No, community energy projects need such a wide variety of skills that everyone is welcome. Whether you want to be invovled in a project using your technical skills, or socially focusing on community engagement.
How does the Community Power Tariff work?
We buy the clean energy from almost 350 different community energy projects, which is then ringfenced and offered through an energy tariff to power your home by our partners at EnergyCoop.
Community energy groups
Do I have to have a PPA with Younity for Community Energy Connect?
No, Community Energy Connect is a free platform that is available to any community energy groups.
I'm not sure what stage we're at in the Community Energy Roadmap
We've got a team of expert Community Renewables Managers on hand to support you if you're not sure what stage you're at. Just get in touch at together@younity.coop
Corporates and universities
Does it cost to use your platform as a partner?
No, Community Energy Connect is free for all volunteers and organisations.
What does this process look like?
We can be flexible around whatever would be best for your organisation. Traditionally, we would host a Lunch & Learn session either remotely or in person, teach you about our sector and the platform and then offer 1:1 support to help sign up the attendees and continue to work with you after that to find roles that fit.
